Mining is one of 12 Professions in World of Warcraft: Classic. The easiest way to start learning Mining is to simply talk to a guard in any Capital City. They will give you directions to an Mining Trainer who will help you get started.
Mining combines nicely with Engineering or Blacksmithing, as it provides easy access to needed crafting materials.
Why Choose Mining?
Mining can be very useful for every class in the game. However, there are better fits for most classes.
Taking Engineering alongside Mining is guaranteed to make you a profit, as you can either craft items for PvP or PvE, or even sell your ore.

Types of Minerals
Here is a list of minerals you can mine outside of Mining quests. They are listed alongside the profession skill level needed to mine them, in addition to the different gems you may collect from these different mineral veins.
Additional information
- Smelt the ore that you've collected as it will give you Mining skill points. Don't forget to go to a furnace every once in a while to smelt the ore you've mined
- Wearing gloves enchanted with +5 to Mining will let you mine veins that are 5 above your own skill level (shown in orange). Having this equipment will let you level up your Mining skill in an easier and faster way.
We recommend these items, if you are able to get a hold of them, as they make ranking up your Mining skill a doddle: Goblin Mining Helmet & Kul Tiran Mining Gloves
