Gamsu quits Overwatch League to return to League of Legends

After three years of competing in the Overwatch League, League of Legends's competitive scene may celebrate Young-jin "Gamsu" Noh's return. The Korean top laner joined Fnatic in 2016 and was part of one of the team's biggest failures. He joined the British organization with Spirit, who at the time was one of the leading jugglers on the world stage.

Despite the fact that they seemed to be a promising duo, Gamsu never really took off. After barely six months in the team and a failure that left him without a World Cup, he decided to move to Overwatch — a newly created competitive scene. Today, after a relatively successful career during which he has always been able to stay in the top players, he has decided to return to League of Legends.

His return won't be easy. He may have played for European and American teams, but at no time was he able to win major titles or build a reputation worthy of recall more than three years after his departure. Despite this, it's an unfinished historical affair for the player who believes he can now redeem himself.

Gamsu is now 25 and hasn't yet confirmed whether he will continue to play as a top laner or whether he will try something else. He also hasn't revealed whether he already is part of a roster or whether he's waiting to return to his level to look for a new team to compete on.

The situation doesn't leave the Overwatch League in a good position. Although the reasons for his departure from the competition haven't been revealed, more and more players are standing up and leaving the Activision-Blizzard franchise.
