As you reach the end of the Borderlands 3 story, you will unlock new game modes and new, more difficult challenges. Here is one of them, the Mayhem mode that will allow you to get experience and a ton of items.

Borderlands 3 - A Guide for Mayhem Mode

When you have overcome the main campaign of Borderlands 3, you will bring a terminal on board the Sanctuary-3 with three additional difficulty levels: Mayhem 1, 2 or 3. Activate one of these modes, and the difficulty and rewards will become much more important: enemies will have more health, shield and armor among others, you will receive more money, eridium and experience points, and you will have more chances to find the best loot. We have done some tests, and the legendary items are found quite regularly in Mayhem 3. Be careful, however, you will have to wait until you have access to the Sanctuary again to access the Mayhem mode terminal in Ultimate Vault Hunter mode if you launch this new campaign.
